So, it wasn`t the good guys doing the rioting then - imagine, if you will, my surprise.

Yeah, good way of putting it. Half a dozen of one.....

Either way it goes to show they don`t get real punishment. If they did, they would not offend again.

Couldn`t you reword that was 3 out of 4 riot suspects had no previous convictions?

I thought Ian Duncan Smith made a lot of sense in the paper today. Sounds like that rare Tory (or indeed politician) who realises and isn`t afraid to say that things aren`t as simple as "lets lock more people up, that`ll fix everything".

I don`t think so...here`s the wider analysis...
...one in four people had committed more than 10 previous offences. Three in four of those who appeared before the courts across the country had a previous caution or conviction and one in 20 had more than 50 previous offences on their record, the Ministry of Justice figures showed.

Not especially surprised here either!

What was that they were bleating on about the other week about the sentences the courts were issuing being too harsh?  Maybe a few harsher punishments might help stop this sort of thing happening again...

Also, cleaned the rat cage out earlier and found the express from the days of the riots.  Did anyone else know that exactly 100 years ago on the same day the riots broke out, there were massive riots in central london? Bit of an odd coincidence!
