Page 1 of New Sky Customer or Moving House Customer?

I currently have SKY HD and I am moving house in the next few weeks. So the question is:-

Do I just pay for a moving house connection or
Become a new customer? Get the 1TB box!

I can get the new account in the wifes name. My mum, who has sky, can get the £50 M&S vouchers for reccomending a friend.

The only drawback is that I have a lot of stuff on the Sky HD box. How do I get to watch it? Do I just swap the boxes when I want to watch some of teh old stuff?
How cheap is HD multiroom?

Any ideas ?

I personally am signing up in the missus`s name.

We move in this Thursday but signed up last month.

It`s £34 a month for standard Sky, phone line and the unlimited broadband, but get £100 M&S vouchers and £115 off Quidco too.

Gives a net cost of Sky, tv phone and broadband as £193 for the year. 


With regards to the HD boxes you are correct that you can just swap them as and when you have finished watching the stuff recorded on yours.

I "think" I remember getting email off Sky a while back that now you only have to pay for one HD subscription to cover all boxes in the household, so it should just be an extra £10 a month for HD multiroom.  (I am not 100% on this bit).

You can also copy one hard drive to another and swap them to watch them but tbh, for a tenner a month it`s as easy to multiroom.

You *might* be able to put your new card into the existing box and get playback but the cards are paired to the unit so it might bork and throw a wobbly, AKA "can`t play back" message ;)

SkyCopy+ iirc is the program to go one to another but you might also get away with a straight hard drive swap.

Personally, I`d pay the tenner a month, even if it`s only til after you`ve watched everything (but if you`re gonna keep it for the year you might get another box for the other room from them.... then you have a nice new spare one too :D)

Basically I was weary for a while but it is basically a referrals site.

You go onto Quidco and use their link to go to a retailer.  Who then pays a referal fee to Quidco.


I think you pay your first £5 per annum to them, but everything else you keep.

It takes around 3months for most retailers to pay and then once it hits Quidco it pays out to you the following month (I have mine set to roll over if under £25).


My "rule" for using it is that I never use it as guaranteed money when costing, I just see it as added bonus on something I was already going to get (not that I have ever had a problem with getting the money off them).

My total to date is £570.

I don`t buy as much as I did online anymore, so it could be higher, plus I forget to go through Quidco at times, but it`s better than a kick in the teeth.
