Selling VHS videos in bulk?

mathew2001 (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 21st May 2002, 17:20

I`ve got about 200 VHS vids that I want to get rid of (obviously!), but I cant be bothered selling them individually on Ebay. I`ve seen some adverts in magazines for companies like film vault, and Notting hill exchanges, and I wondered if anyone can recommend them. Most of my collection are all great titles, classics etc, and all are in good condition, but I`ve seen that they penalise you if they find something not in great condition. I dont want to send them my collection, only to be ripped off.

Could someone give me some advice, and also what sort of prices do they give you, £1 per tape - more or less?

Cant recommend any sites/addresses to sell your vids ,sorry bud.
If as you said the tapes are in good condition I would probably be looking for £2.50-£3.00 as that seems to be the going rate for used rental tapes in our local libraries (Falkirk district) and they have probably not been well looked after by every user.
Failing selling them why not give them to your local hospital/hospice/nursing home. I have no doubt they would be more than willing to accept them and just think of the "Karma?" :-)

Try Car Boot sales. Managed to get rid of 100 titles for £2. Also posted on our company Intranet at work and sold another 40.
