which hack for the Pioneer 535?

thesaint (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 29th November 2000, 18:37

I am looking to buy this player, and I was wondering if anyone know which hack is the best:
- multimode by Techtronic
- Paragon by Link Electronics
- ? by Futuretronic

Any ideas?

All functionally very similar.

Multimod has a dongle/key with it which serves no real purpose except as a marketing gimmick.
Paragon probably the most ripped off one (some companies get a copy of the Paragon firmware and either copy it directly or change the message and checksum so it looks as though they have done it)

as for Futuretronic......have a search on deja.com to see what people think of them (hope you don`t mind reading swear words)

Dear Michael,

What do you mean by "why not try us"?
I want to know if I can make a Pioneer 535 regionfree
Can it be done just by yourself..or
do you need hardware (chip)?

Hi there
There are 2 ways to make this machine mutiregion
1.Hardware mod ,only a enginner can fit this,it is not easy to fit.
2. software download. The machine has to be sent to us
If you email me i will quote you for us to upgrade for you.
The price is the same whichever mod and both are manual, auto select and macro free
.

is the softare hack RCE compatible? and with it, is the official warranty preserved?

Final question: which one do you recommend, the Pioneer 535 or the Phiips 711?

Yes it is .It the spec as the hardware mod,the discs that dont play in auto in the future will always play on the manual select.
For value for money pionner 535 is better .
1,Macro off
2.pal,ntsc and auto output
3.plays copy vcds
4.dts optical and phono
Much better than the phillips because of points 1 to 3 which the phillips dont have.

Hi,

I was folowing some thread about gettting a Pioneer 535 multizone.
You are speaking about software possibilities. Can you be more specific?
I am in Belgium, isn`t there any possibilities to do it here? I cannot send you my DVD player?

With the Hardware change, what do you need (material) to do it? Can a newbie in electronic can do it?

Eric
