Help needed for Thomson dth-3300 remote hack!!!!

Robby (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 3rd December 2000, 12:32

The hack provided here wont seem to work. All I seem to get on my screen is a red circle with a line through it. Can anyone help and let me know where I may be going wrong??

Do you have a R2 DTH-3300? Different five-digit codes are required for the hack, depending on what region your player is currently set to:

R1 - 29334
R2 - 38767
R3 - 56732
R4 - 76884
R5 - 53814
R6 - 24462

Try doing a "cold reset" before you begin (by holding down PLAY and STOP until the language screen appears). You shouldn`t need to do this, but it may help.

I was mis informed the hack still wont work. Even after cold start, the code still brings up the prohibit symbol. Is it possible that the firmware may be to old for this hack.

As a dvd newbie i tried my hand at firing the remote hack into my thomson 3300 (press repeat then input code etc etc) to convert it to region 1 it worked (too well in fact) now it only plays region 1 titles can it be hacked back to region 2 or made multi region (when i try the remote hack i get the orange prohibited circle)
Hope you can help our it`ll be a looonnnng christmas of james bond movies and terry poxy wogan

Yep. Do the same hack again but enter the code listed for R1 - i.e. 29334, instead of 38767. Now enter 9 (for multi-region) or 2 (for region 2), open the tray then press power off/Standby.

If this doesn`t work, remember that you can reset your player to factory settings by holding down Play and Stop until the language screen appears. This will make your player R2 again.

I must be stupid or something cos I still can`t get this hack to work. Is there a particular state the DVD has to be in before the hack will work (ie. in a menu, just after it`s rejected a region 1 dvd). Any help you could give would be gratefully appreciated.

Make sure the tray is empty (and closed) and the Thomson splash screen is displaying. It won`t work in a menu, or if there`s a disc inserted.

If you get the orange "No Entry" symbol, wait until it disappears and try again (starting with REPEAT, etc.)

You need to choose the language first.
