Any truth in this?

Dave Grainger (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 26th June 2000, 11:03

I have recently emailed a company who modify DVD players to read region one discs.

I enquired if my player (Aiwa XD-DV290) was remote-hackable, if not could it be modified by a chip.

The response was that it wasn`t remote-hackable, and that I would have to buy another machine (from them) that was either remote hackable or already modified.

Anyone know if this is the case, or are they just trying to get a sale out of me? (Not very trusting of me I know) Any help would be much appreciated. It seems that nobody else in the UK owns the same player as me - :-(

thanks

At the moment we don`t know of any region hacks for this machine, thats not to say there isn`t one. However just because others have them doesn`t mean it does. If you follow my drift heh.
