Help Please. I`ve just been given a Samsung DVD709 which the ex owner has tried to hack and failed. The machine will not allow another attempt and therefore my only alternative is to reset it. Does anyone know how this is done please.

Just turn the player on, wait for the Samsung logo to appear on screen, then hold down PLAY and STOP on the front panel of the player until the language select screen appears. Once you`ve selected your language, the player will be reset to factory default settings.

my mate has a 709 and he is not to bothered about the multi region codes but he would like to play vcd,s burnt on cdr,s.Any help would be great

The only cdrs I ever got to play were datasafe media.Not the whitetop.

Most CD-Rs will NOT play on the 709 due to the type of laser used. You may be able to play *some* media such as Princo, but as a rule, if you need to play home-burned CDs and VCDs, the 709 is not the player for you.
