Page 1 of Need help with the MiCO Celo 80

I recently purchased a MiCO Celo 80 from Sainsburys (£99) and I`m having problems with the region hack.

I`ve tried the 2918 Enter code to no avail (and the older 77 code)

I have no DVD in the machine and the drive is closed.

Do I enter the code whilst in the front blue MiCO screen or from within the Setup screen?
Have they changed the code?

Any help appreciated.

on the start screen , the one with the DVD Video MiCO Electric cloud picture, make sure no cd is in, press 7 7 select, and you will be in to the extra options.
ps if 77 doesn`t work try 74

I take it by select, you mean Enter?

I tried the above codes anyway and still no joy. Also, you mention the DVD Video MiCO Electric cloud picture. My opening screen is darkish blue (solid colour) on the left and lightish blue (solid colour) on the right, with a vertical curve joining the two down the middle.

Over the top is the word MiCO (about 100 times!) and it says Celo in the top left (fancy font), MiCO in the middle(big font!) and DVD Video at the bottom middle.

Is this the same as yours or does it sound like a more recent edition?

Are you sure it isn`t already multi-region?

A friend of mine just bought one and it was.

Good point. I don`t have any region 1 DVD`s yet - I`ll try and lay my hands on one.

I tried a Region 1 DVD and all works well with having to enter a hack code.

I am glad you manage to sort your MiCO celo 80 Region 1DVD. Please tell me what hack code did you enter? I have tried all sorts (2918, 77, 74 )from this forum but none worked so far.

I meant to say:

I tried a Region 1 DVD and all works well **WITHOUT** having to enter a hack code.

My Celo 80 seemed to just play R1/2 (haven`t tried any others) straight from the box.

HI, JUST HAD STEVE FROM MICO SEND ME EMAIL ABOUT CODES FOR SECRET MENU FOR MY MICO CELO 80, ITS "NOT" 2918, OR 77, THE CODE IS 2812. SWITCH MACHINE ON MAKE SURE THERE IS NO DISC IN DRIVE AND KEEP DRIVE DOOR CLOSED, YOU WILL SEE THE BLUE MICO SCREEN, GET YOUR REMOTE AND PRESS 2812 THEN PRESS ENTER, NOW YOU WILL SEE SECRET MENU. MINE WAS ALREADY SET TO REGION 13, (REGION FREE) YOU CANNOT RESET MACROVISION AS THIS CANNOT BE HACKED ON THIS MACHINE, MY SERIAL NUMBER STARTS WITH 02. NEW MACHINES OF THIS MAKE CAN NO LONGER BE MACROVISION FREE. REGARDS, KHALI
