Hi,
After I press PLAY on my remote and the 1-5-9 only 9 digits come up not 12.on the recorder
Is there a other code with 9 digits I can use.

I`ve the same issue, I tried the method listed - but still won`t play region 1 discs.

Am I missing something really simple.

switch on the machine with no disc

Set your remote to
"DVD player" instead of "DVD recorder",

Press PLAY 159

at this point - - - - - digits will appear on the DVD player, type in 121 212 005 001 ( where 00* is the region you wish to view ). and press play
( you will notice there isnt enough DIGITS on the display panel ofr the whole code but enter ALL numbers and complete it )
I too am unable to get the normal Philips hack to make the machine region free, but the above seems to make it multi-region. Just change the last number for the region you wish to play. BE WARNED I have read somewhere else that you may only have a maximum of 25 changes until the machine freezes on the 25th region. Using an RC6 remote to access the input dashes is supposed to bypass this but my machine is brand new & I`ve changed it only 3 times so far, we`ll just have to wait & see!!??

I tried the method suggested. But no luck.

The machine shows "no disc" for a second after I`ve pressed play at the end.

Any ideas?
