The Dansai hack works fine. When you get the region select menu scroll down the list to BYPASS it isn`t shown staight away but just keep scrolling and it is there.
As for VCD`s I don`t know if the player can handle these, sorry.
Can someone help me with this one......I bought one of the above DVD players....some of my discs willnot work ...shows the normal screen and "DISC ERROR PBC ON", does anyone know what this means, handbook does not help. otherwise the player has good functions for the price, £59 plus vat in macro.
RE: NAIKO DVD PLAYER MODEL N1170
Hi there,
I have tried every combination of this code and have been unsuccessful in getting to any secret page. What could I be doing wrong?
By the way mine is a Naiko N1170A if this is different..

Did you ever get the correct hack for your DVD player, if so would you mind telling me what it is?

NAIKO N1170 HACK - THIS WORKS!
1. Switch on player with no disc
2. Press setup - a menu should appear with 4 picture options at the top
3. On the remote press the > key to the right of the PLAY button 3 times to enter `Preference Page`
4. Press the V key under the PLAY button 8 times to go to `Default`
5. Enter `Supervisor Password`. This was on page 20 of my manual which is `Set up operations - preference page. On my machine it is `49540` by pressing the number keys on the remote.
6. Region code should now appear on the TV screen
7. Change region code by pressing the up arrow and down arrow keys above and below the `PLAY` button on remote until you get the required region
8. Press `PLAY`
9. Switch off
Hopefully that`s it and you should now have chosen region or Region 0
Please advise if this works :D
