Could anyone please help.I have tried the multi regional hack procedure
for the above mentioned player but nothing seems to work also the player
boast vcd capabilities but will not play those either.
I would sincerely appreciate anyones help with these problems.

...well, this only works on 709s fitted with newer firmware versions, i.e. 3.23 and later. If you bought the 709 before Autumn 1999 and never got it upgraded to play The Matrix, then you have an older version and will need to upgrade the firmware in order to get the hack to work. Regarding the VCD playback: the 709 does support the VCD format, but the player can only handle conventional pressed CD media, *not* CD recordables. If you have commercial VCDs bought from a shop, they will work fine; if they are VCDs you`ve created yourself with a CD writer, they probably won`t.
