Help please. Have tried without any success to hack this DVD player. any advice on how do do this would be most welcome as I am a female technophobe!

You should do a forum search, as this has been asked many times before. (The DV-P315 is a re-badged Samsung M105, so all comments about the Samsung machine apply to the Hitachi model too.)

In a nutshell, you`ve probably been doing the hack correctly - the problem is that it doesn`t work on all firmware versions. If you have version 5.02Da or 5.02E, it won`t work, and you`ll need to upgrade the firmware on your player to version 5.02Ee in order to perform the hack.
