We have tried the hack, which works fine, but we can not disable macrovision any help will be greatfully received.

I`m not saying there won`t be a macrovision hack but the mediatek chipset this is based on is meant to be less anti-macrovision friendly. The same chipset is used for numerous other budget dvd players too.
