Page 1 of Hack for PROLINE DVD150HT

Anyone help me with a hack for this machine as I believe it uses the same processor board as my repaired Grundig GDV620HT.

i have tried this and it seems to work

1 OPEN DRIVE TRAY

2 PRESS BUTTONS 9.8.1.7. ON YOUR REMOTE,ONE AT A TIME .AND IN ORDER.

3 YOU WILL NOW BE IN THE HIDDEN MENU WHERE YOU CAN CHANGE THE REGION CODE FROM 1 TO 6 BY PRESSING ENTER ON YOUR REMOTE OR SET IT TO 9 FOR MULTIREGION .

4 YOU CAN ALSO DISABLE MACROVISION IN THIS MENU

Top piece of help. I tried this on mine and it works fine. Great piece of kit too at less than a ton from Comet, complete with built in surround sound processor and 5 speakers. Thanks again...now I can play all my (3) USA DVDs.

The hack only seems to last for as long as the machine is powered on - once in standby or off it reverts back to R2. Any way of making it permanant?

how do u turn the macrovision off

As far as I remember when I could use this hack on my grundig GDV620HT the macrovision on/off should be the last item in the hidden menu. Thanks for the replies but the 9817 hack doesn`t work on my repaired Grundig. I`m still hopeful that someone out there will come up with a hack for my Grundig as I`m sure I can`t be doing anything wrong in just entering 9817 from my remote control.

good quality? and do you know if you can play vcd`s on this system?

I got one of these Proline 150HT jobbies this weekend and i think it is very good.

The sound is excellent although the manual is a bit informative. The 5 speakers + woofer are excellent value for a 5 pennys under a ton in my opinion. It plays dvd cd cdr cdrw and mp3 no mention on vcd i am afraid. The on screen menu via remote is a bit slow but you can select the am/fm radio (built in). It comes with all the cables (scart, av, s-video Am & Fm areials.

And the 9817 hack works a treat. for the region selector. ;)

gonna get one tomorrow, i was just a bit worried it might not sound as good as i was hoping for the money but you`ve put my mind at rest. i did`nt know it had a built in radio as well, thats a bonus.
I asked comet if they could demonstrate one for me but got the usual " we have`nt got the remote and one`s not set up "
so they just expect you to buy it and when youre not happy with it they say you can`t get a refund because you`ve used it and now its second hand.

i have had this proline midel for a month now and have to say for the price it lived up to more then my expectations. The sound may dissapoint but thats only due to the power of the speakers, but after watching some majour sounding films(LOTR two towers lol) you will get used to it.

the fm/am tuner is also handy as hell though not mention by comet staff( in fact comet sucked all the way)

the 9817 while the drawer is open is superb, although as no one has mentioned this i better do this now, most RCE encoded region 1 dvds will force the dvd player back to its defualt settings, but as of the 7th time of inputting the code i dont think theres a limit to how many times you can enter it. it can play vcd, it can also play most dvdrw (pirate films sssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh) as well which is bloody handy

all in all, a bloody fine dvd player, pretty good sound and multi region two and all for £90, worth it if ya cant afford anything else, enjoy peeps
