Page 1 of Welltech 20654 Region hack

I tried the "Not a hack more a fiddle" for the Welltech 20654 posted by Crackerjack, after several trys, got it to work but you do have to hold the play button down on the second press and be quick opening the lid!!
The menu layout looks similar to the Compacks and will try the same hack when I get time. Have you found anything new Crackerjack??

I may have found something.... I had a Welltech and it went horribly wrong and wouldn`t play anything so I bought a Nextbase MDV1 on the internet. The menu system appears to be exactly the same as the Welltech and there is a firmware download to make it region free (just incase it isn`t when you receive it).

I have not found out any more to region crack the Welltech 20654 :/

Unfortunately :( now one of my dvd disc holder bearings has worn away from its mountings & I have returned it back to LIDL awaiting a full refund. (3 year guarantee :) )
I will miss such a neat compact unit. 8) Perhaps it will come back to LIDL although it may have already as the price has dropped to £79.99 on the till. :p

To tide me over I may buy the Daewoo 9000S5 Multi-region DVD Player from Amazon.co.uk for £49.99 free delivery :D

I also own this Welltech unit from LIDL. Unfortunately, this player is quite bad for playing DVD-R or DVD+R discs. Does anyone know who is the real manufacturer of this unit, so I could contact them to ask for a firmware upgrade to improve compatibility with DVD-R and DVD+R?
