samsung s224 will not read region 3

:/ i have recently bought this player as a multi region but it just will not read anything apart from region 2, can you help?

Got this off that french website. no promises.. Post your results.

1) Mettre un DVD dans le lecteur, et attendre le début du DVD. (PUT A DVD DISC IN THE PLAYER AND WAIT FOR IT TO START UP)
2) Retirer le DVD et fermer le tiroir. (TAKE OUT THE DISC AND CLOSE THE TRAY)
3) Attendre l`affichage "no disc" (WAIT FOR THE MESSAGE `NO DISC`)
4) Se saisir de la télécommande. USING THE REMOTE
5) Press "REPEAT" THEN "5" "7" "5" "3" "8" ; "02"WILL APPEAR ON SCREEN.
6) Press "9" UNTIL THE NUMBER DISAPPEARS ON THE SCREEN (USUALLY 3 SECONDS)
7) Press "OPEN"ON THE REMOTE
8) RESET THE DVD PLAYER USING REMOTE.
