Page 1 of Mintek MDP-5860 Hack needed

I have this Mintek bought from a US source so it only plays region 1. I need region 2 at the very least, I have tried the other hacks listed (dvd out, menu up, select GB etc...) and that still doesn`t let me play region 2.

Any assistance would be lovely!

I`ve also got one of these and am looking for a decent hack. You can however hack it to play some region 2 discs although there is no menu functionality etc. When the disc is "loading" repeatedly press "1" on the remote. It will come up "wrong region" but then play. If this doesn`t work, try again but this time press "2" repeatedly. Once the DVD starts playing you will have the "wrong region" caption on the screen. If you press the audio button on the remote a few times it will clear the caption.

This doesn`t work on all discs unfortunately so I`m still looking for a proper hack!

Has anyone found how to get the mintek MDP-5860 TO PLAY MULTI REGION YET PLEASE. please reply thank you, ladybird. ;) ;)

at the moment i`m backing up my dvd`s and making them multi-region

not cheap and now got 2 of every movie i aquire

This does work and is verified!

Power on with No Disk in player.
Open player
Press "SETUP" button
Select "PREFERENCES" and press "ENTER"
Move the cursor down to the Last menu Item
Input the password "2 2 2 4 4 3"
Press the "LEFT" and "DOWN" button

The screen should now show "REGION CODE X"

Press the number button (1 to 6) to change zone

Press "SETUP" button to exit

There you have it...

Ive tried the 222443 hack and am not able to get it working is there anything that im not doing correctly as ive tried using only the remote and without but still unable to get ti working. Is it possible that there may be something missing from what was posted could you please let me know as im pulling my hair out over this. Thanks very much for your help.

:D Better Yet All... Here are some more accurete directions and you CAN make your player REGION FREE too! ...

Power on with No Disk in player.
Open player

With the remote control:
Press "SETUP" button
Select "PREFERENCES" and press "ENTER"
Input the password "2 2 2 4 4 3"
Press the "LEFT" and "DOWN" button

The screen should now show "REGION CODE X"

Press the number button 0 to change zone (REGION FREE)

The screen should now show "REGION CODE 0"

Press "SETUP" button to exit

Now simply slap in your favorite movie from any region and ENJOY!
