Page 1 of Wharfedale WMTS 6801 Hack

Hi,
I`ve just bought a Wharfedale WMTS 6801 DVD Micro System from Argos UK but it is stuck on "Region 2". Can anyone help with an unlock code please that will open it to play any region. Also this this system says it plays CR-R CD-RW, JPG, however I can`t get it to play ANY of my copied DVD discs, VCD discs or even Cam created and converted family videos. The discs were created with "MainConcept Mpeg Encoder", and some with "EasyVCD" VCDEasy and "Cladripper" and "TMPEnc Plus" amongst others. The output file types is Mpg or DAT format. They were verified using a small program called `Gspot` for correct `PAL` framerate etc and they all play perfectly well in my £39 cheapy "Crown" standalone DVD player ( the best investment I made ) and on my PC. The copied discs were burned using Nero 6.3 and at the lowest burn speed to avoid write errors using the latest "SONY DVD -R+R writer". The discs used for writing vary from Verbatin, Memorex, Swirl, ACE Gold, White Label. Mirror etc, so media seems not to be the issue here. Any help would be greatly appreciated from this forum as I`ve only been into DVD etc for a matter of weeks and wish to develop my knowledge.

I`m currently looking at thie same unit. Any info you find on making it multi region, can you pass on. Sorry my knowledge on the format problems is less than yours.

hi steve hope you are having more luck than me if you find a hack would you please let me know as i have just had the same system given to me, i have a number of different region discs.

Hi, any luck in obtaing a code to unlock the Whafedale 6801.

I have tried the five digit code, but it seems that my player requires a six digit code.

Just purcahse from Argos £49.99 (sept 2006) to replace and upgrade my existing player/hi-fi to 5.1 speaker system.
