Does anybody know if the region & macro hacks work on this player as i`m thinking of buying one.

Hi there.
Personaly myself i would`nt touch goodmans but my friend has just but one and i had real problems trying to find a hack for it but i found one so here is is.
1/ switch player on and open tray.
2/Then enter 77 then press select and a hiden menu will appear.
3/Go down to "country code" and change it to13
4/Then if you want to get rid of the macrovision then you go down to the bottom and go on to the next page.
5/press select and Change the settings on the macrovision from 1 to 0 and that will disable it.
Press return to exit menu and put in region 1/2/ or what ever and you should be away.
The same hack is also used for Bush2002.
Also check out the help forums on dvd-reviewer or check out the new dvd code hand book 2001 they got all the hacks you need (i think its around £20 )

P.S. i personly love my samsung 709 as it can convert ntsc discs(R1) to
vhs tape i dont know if there is any more good branded machines that do this but there are plenty of other names like yelo,logix,scan,toshico,who
dose do the converter built in but like i said these are not like big branded machines like samsung etc.

Hiya.... Someone else posted this, I`m not sure if the country code works because I have no region 1 disks yet - I only brought my player today!! :) [It`s v.nice btw - well worth the money]

The key sequence they gave didn`t work for me.... dispare!! -- trawled the web for ages and found nothing so I started trying anthing.... instead of 7,7 the sequence was 7,4 - might just be my box, don`t know! good luck! :)

CODE CHANGE:
1) Turn on player and open tray.
2) On the remote press 7,4, Select. [that`s 7, 4!!!!]
3) A hidden menu will appear on your TV screen. Use the directional
buttons to scroll down to "Country Code". Press SELECT on the
remote and change the setting to the Region Code you need, 1 thru 6,
however changing it to "13" to make it code free.
4) After entering the desired number press SELECT. 5)
From this menu you can change other settings, but to exit the menu
just press RETURN.

DISABLE MACROVISION:
1) Access hidden menu as described above.
2) Use directional buttons on remote to scroll down to "Macrovision".
3) The default setting is "1" which seems to mean "enabled".
Press SELECT and then press the "0/10" button;
this clears the setting.
4) Press SELECT and the setting changes to "0" which disables it.
5) Press RETURN to exit the menu

This is all well and good, I have tried this code and I then put in a region 2 disc which would normally work and i now get "wrong disc format" every time i put a region 2 disc in. As of yet I have not tried a region 1 but it means that my collection of dvds dont work, if you could help I would be very greatful.

I have tried the obvious thing and changed it back but no joy. Any code other than 2 or 13 and i get a wrong region message. Plz help?????!!!!
