I have searched a number of sites for a hack without success.
For £19.99 (+ about £1.50 to return) I hired a chipped remote from
dvdcodes.net and it works perfectly. :D
You only get one shot at it so read the instructions carefully.

I can now watch all regions and copies. It was well worth the money
and risk to me

Hi there, Shifty,
Like you, I need a hack for panasonic dmr e50 and am thinking about going the way of a chipped remote. Do you know if the hack is permanent? What happens if there`s a power cut or if you unplug the set for a while? Any ideas? It`s no bargain if it only lasts as long as the set is connected to the mains. If it is permanent then I`ll send for one. What do you think? Regards, Tops

Hi tops,

The final part of the process with the chipped remote is to put the player on standby
then unplug it from the mains for about five seconds then reconnect. I did this and it worked fine.

I can`t guarantee it is permanent but if it worked as above in the set up phase i can`t see why it should fail.

The company do provide a forwarding address to return the remote. If you don`t follow the instructions to the letter they will let you have another try for £9.99. If you can prove it is the fault of the handset they promise to give you a free go.

Hope this helps
