Hack Help Forum
Please can someone define the risks for going ahead with hacking this unit using it`s own remote?
I don`t have access to a OneForAll remote so cannot use that option.
The site says "DO NOT do it"
the actual hack suggested says "there have been reports of problems"
what sort of problems? how often?
Is it worth having a go? - or could I completelt destroy my unit?
My missus brought a dozen DVDs back from the USA last month because she thought the 880 was multi-regional already and the kids REALLY want to watch them.
Thanks for your advice
John
Go out and buy a one for all then do the hack that is listed costs about 25 quid
the hack will work ok and you dont need a one 4 all it really depends on what software version it is as long as you go into the settings and make sure the machine is set to dvd player not recorder
OK...so how do I tell what software version I have? (or does that not really matter to performing the hack? - just to the resut!)
Finally - how do I go into the settings and make sure that it is set to "player" and not to "recorder" (an "idiot`s guide" please)

hi john
first of all make sure there is no dvd in the machine then hit the system button
then scroll with the left arrow button until it get to the corner then use arrow down until i think its the bottom or second bottom then hit right arrow then when you find the option it should say dvd recorder use right arrow then enter and select up or down then enter and make sure its on player
after you hit play159 on the remote enter the code 121212005000 turn machine off and it should be region free if you want to play any rce reg one titles instead of putting in the code 121212005001 hope this helps you if not and you are anywhere near glasgow mail me and i will do it for you free of charge
OK...tried to do my daughters LG unit with the hack for that. Got no joy!
My Sister is over from Las Vegas right now...she brought her kid`s favourite DVD over to keep him quiet. I NEED to get him quiet.
I tried this hack...got the unit into player mode, used <play>159 and entered the code (could not see the last numbers going in because the field was not that long)
Even tried unplugging the unit to switch it off when simply turning off at the remote did not do the trick!
I still get the message that the disc inserted is not the same region as the player.
Can anyone shed light? I`d be happy to ring anyone and have them talk me through the process (if you are happy to give me your number). Alternatively ...here`s mine

Thanks for any help you can offer. (I NEED to shut this kid up!)
