Page 1 of Toshiba / Charlie`s Angels!

Just paid over the odds for a copy of Charlie`s Angels only to find that it won`t play on my Toshiba multi-region-chipped DVD. have I just wasted £26? Is there anything I can do to make the disc play. I`m furious!

I`ve got the same problem, although my disc was cheap (try www.dvdboxoffice.com free shipping). I own a Hitachi DV-P250. I`ve rang the retailer who tell me it`s a new incription for DVD regions called RCE.
I`ve been told that for £90 I can get an upgrade but they cannot gaurantee it will work. I`ve also been informed the a lot of DVD players that are Multi region, have the region set to 0. The best are the ones where you can change your region from the machine. Not much help I`m afraid, but if I come across anything else I`ll keep you informed. If you find out anything please let me know.

put disc in player, wait for the map
press memory button
type in 01 push right type in 00(will not appear)
press play

Many thanks for the tip! I can now get my Drew fix! Any ideas how I can access the special features? I can access the menu screens, but when a feature is selected, the disc reverts to the map screen.

Hi, noticed that you alterred the regions from 1 to 2 but how do you change the player to multi region ?

As I havn`t the bottle to try it on my mates player but I thought someone here may have.

Thats not a region hack - its an RCE `bodge` (for want of a better word).

Pressing the memory button allows direct access to chapters/tracks on the DVD - what this does is allow you to bypass the menu where the RCE check is.

Any better idea`s Chris, i`m all ears.
