Page 1 of ORION DVD2000 HACK HELP PLEASE !!!!!

I`ve just tried to use the ORION DVD 2000 hack, to make my player multi regional, and it works !!!!!!!
BUT ..........It will only play in BLACK & WHITE can any one please tell me how to get it to colour.

Just tried it on mine, but could not get it to work, a menu appears (after much messing around, does not work every time), and you can select the number of the region you want (no "free" option). I tried chaging it back to region 2, and now cannot play anything.

The problem with black and white could be a couple of things:
1). your TV does not support NTSC (UK is PAL, USA is NTSC, Japan is NTSC), which is what the player will be outputting for region 1.
2). are you using a fully loaded SCART?

Thanks for the info. I am using a SCART, but how do you mean fully loaded !?

Fully loaded means all the pins are wired up. Some SCART cables come with just the necessary pins wired, which miis some of the ones needed to carry the NTSC signal.

By the way I got my player working again, looks like there are two menus that appear. One that does the region stuff, and one that says "Initailized type".

P.s I`ve just been told by the makers of my W/S TV that if my player is RGB ? then it`ll work on the TV, as I dont have any booklets I was hoping you might know. ?

how do you get the other menu up ("Initailized type")
and does it help with lip sync problems on region 1 discs

my tv can handle ntsc and i only have region 1 discs
so i want to force the player into full region 1 mode
just enabling the region free allows me to play the discs but
it stutters and lip sync is real bad

To get the other menu up, you press the other "skip" button. One of them brings up the hidden menu, and one brings up the "initailized menu".
The problem is, what does it do ?
I would be very greatfull if you had any info regarding this player, as when I was given it, it came with no booklet. What I want to know is "does it support RGB, and can I get it to play on a non-NTSC TV ?

I have the same problem with missing colors. I really would like to know if there is a solution for that.
