Page 1 of Alba TVD 3450 XI hack needed

please can someone help me with a hack for this tv/dvd combi i got from argos for my sons bedroom

Just go one for christmas, work on region 1 straight out of the box.

I cant get this one to work but some people have managed it - maybe i`m doing it wrong!!

Press dvd mode button on the tv panel.
Press set up on the remote control.
Press next arrow on the remote control(4 times) to open the version screen - the words version 2 should be on the top right hand corner of the screen.
Use the arrow keys on the remote to change the version to 255 which is the setting for multi region.
Press set up on the remote to save the setting.
