Page 1 of Alba DVD 45 Recorded DVDs

Is there anyway the Alba 45 can play recorded DVDs? I have just purchased one & have a mountain of home videos that I have recorded onto DVD. Unfortunately when I try to play them it says incorrect disc format. It`s driving me crazy. Also, are they multi region out of the box?

1.Turn on your DVD player
2.Open disc tray either using the EJECT button on the Player or the OPEN button on the remote
3.Press 2812
4.A menu should pop up, press ENTER until 9 appears
5.Your DVD player is now region-free (you can play any countries DVD`s)

Thanks. I already have that code for multi region - and although I`ve been told they are MR out of the box I did it again anyway (what do you press when it says 9?). However, recorded CD`s still wont play in there. They were burned using Sonic, and although they play thru any PC, I still cant watch them thru a DVD. Incidentally, pictures I have on a CD do play. Any help would be gratefully rec`d!
