Page 1 of Samsung 711 region hack

I just bought a Samsung 711 a week ago.
Tried the thomson 3300 hack but it doesn`t seen to work.

1) press play & stop does give me the language options menu.

2) press the most left lower button on remote (Repeat) and nothing realy seems to happen. Continue anyway with the numbers for region code 2

3) There doesn`t appear a code indicatation the current region settings.
follow with the rest of the steps and tried to swich to region 1.

4) Nothing seemed to have happend and my region 2 dvd`s still play.

I think I must be doing something wrong but what??

1. Cold start the machine again and press 1 for english.
2. Wait for machine to boot up, (it says no disk on display).
3. Enter the following buttons as fast as you can. Repeat 387671 for region 1 or enter 387679 for multiregion. press open button on front of DVD, then press standby on your remote, press standby again to switch on .

What ijames said, except you don`t have to be *that* quick at entering them :-)

The 3300 code should work on the 711 provided that:

(a) you remember to select the language *before* pressing Repeat etc.
(b) you don`t own a US 711. American 711s can`t be hacked without a firmware change.
