Macrovision disabling?

Is it easy to disable macrovision on most machines? I am specifically thinking of a Phillips 711, as I am considering buying one of these.

If not, would it be worth getting an Ariston DVD2000 (which is macrovision free) instead?

Any advice appreciated....

You can`t get rid of Maco on the 711 unless you buy an external remover
