There are no remote hacks for Sony players ... they have to be chipped .... you player will play NTSC disks .. those region coded 2 (Japan) or all .....

Perhaps you would be so kind as to give one model you can hack without chipping (or changing resistor values) since the first gen machines Sony released (the one with the dip switches).

The service mode, for that is where you are looking, does not allow the alteration of the region code (I take it you have bothered looking at the firmware to base your wild allegation of "it can be changed" on something). To use a phrase used by a friend of mine "It says bovril on buses but they don`t sell it".

BTW telling everyone to get a move on to find a hack for your player isn`t really a very good way of motivating.
