Why my Apple DVD Player is asking me to lock into one region?

My apple DVD player is asking me to commit with one region. I only have a number of times that I can go back and for. I need need to be region Free because I live in USA but I go to Europe often.
Any suggestions?

have a look at VLC it`s region free media player http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/5758
first in system prefs go to cd`s & dvd`s and set to ignore in the when you insert a video dvd or choose VLC to load.
