Page 1 of Daewoo DF-4100P DVD Rec / VCR

Just bought a new Daewoo DVD Recorder + VCR DF-4100P from Comet and it seems to be fine, but would appreciate being able to use it for all or at least Region 1. It is set at Region 2 as you would expect.

I have tried some of the hacks under Daewoo for other combis but none seems to have any effect. This particular model is not listed. I don`t know whether it is a little known model.

Would much appreciate a hand please! Thanks.

Ive also just got a DF-4100P (although from Currys) and been looking for hacks. Would like to back up some of my videos that aren`t on DVD but need to disable the Macrovision. I found quite a few hacks for Daewoo but none for this model. Haven`t tried them all yet but if any work I`ll let you know.

Can`t help with multi region code, but a thought about macro defeat. Would it be possible to connect a macro defeat scart lead from AV1 to AV2 and select AV2 as the source for the VCR? If this doesn`t work, how about using the macro defeat lead with an adaptor to connect AV1 to the composit or component input and try to tape from that :D

hi just brought same dvd combi have you any luck with unlock yet as records ok but discs will not play on any other dvds except that one

I also just bought one of these - and searched for hacks. Did find this info on another site this morning, though I haven`t had a chance to test it yet: On the system information screen type 1101. This will add a region setting to the bottom of the list.Type 0 for region Free or 1-6 to set to a region.

Update - Just got home and tested it. Worked no probs.

tried it myself worked a treat, cheers - now looking for a way to remove macro

i think your problem might be - not finalizing the disk after recording?

Does anyone know if this hack still works with DVDs that have RCE?
