Hack required for Samsung SV-DVD1E (Combined DVD/Video)
I am looking at a Region 1 hack for the above machine
RE: Hack required for Samsung SV-DVD1E (Combined DVD/Video)
I think the good old 709 hack works....but I`m not sure!
One thing I DO know is that Macrovision isn`t disabled, so you won`t be able to tape your dvd`s, unless you buy a Macmaster and loop the signal around the scarts....(could someone confirm this??)

Switch on the DVD then make sure the dvd-button is set to dvd on the player,
then press "FF" and PAUSE/PLAY button on the dvd, which will give you a choice of language press 1 for english.
wait 5 seconds till it says "no disk" on the display. press Setup then repeat ( bottom right hand button with a-b on it ).
Then enter 387679 press Open on front of DVD. then power off, power on with remote standby button.

RE: Hack required for Samsung SV-DVD1E (Combined DVD/Video)
I`ll preface this enquiry by saying I`m new to DVD players, so it`s most likely my own incompetence, but I`ve tried the hack referred to in this thread without any obvious sign that it was successful. Does the player give any indication that the region coding has been removed, if the hack is successfully applied? I don`t have any non-Region 2 disks to try, so I can check whether it`s worked or not.
Any feedback gratefully received!

The only indication that the hack works is when you insert a region 1 disk to play, and it plays....
