Page 1 of Philips 726 - Confused in Belfast

HELP - I am trying to hack my Philips 762 - I have tried 3 options, the 750 hack - this is fine until the end, then I can`t power off machine and have to do this at the switch. Region not changed. I have also tried the 1111 and the 9999 0 method, nothing so far has worked and my local video shop does all the latest region 1 - can anyone help? :/

The 9999 0 method is the correct one , but the disk drawer has to be open when you put the code in

Thanks Mojo risin, but when I press the first 9 the door closes - the same happens on the 1111 method.any ideas?

The only other info i can find out says that you should try with the drawer open and if that doesn`t work then try with it closed , the 9`s method is the correct one but it does say to press the buttons slowly, ie leave a couple of seconds between presses

Thanks for the help but have tried it a couple of times with the door closed and its still not working. Do you think I should try downloading onto disc and putting it in this way, but don`t know how to do this!

Downloading firmware updates onto disk is only for certain players that cant be remote hacked, below is the full work through on how to apply the hack to your machine:

- Power on the dvd player with no disc in tray.
- Wait until display on dvd player says -No disc-
- Open the tray pushing the button
on dvd player front panel.
- Press on remote control 9 9 9 9 0 (four times a nine
followed by a zero) leaving approx. 1 to 2 seconds
between each keypress.

After pressing the 0, in the upper left
corner of the TV screen the message `Region:0` appears.

- Close the tray.
- Now the dvd player is region free and ready for use.

Hi, sorry for the delay - but have tried your step by step method and again the drawer closes when I press the first digit, tried this a few times with the drawer closed - no success - have given up!!
