Page 1 of Samsung 511 it don`t work!!!!

i just bought 1 today thinking I could remote hack it. Nope ,it don`t display the bit where it should show your region code after ya input the codes, plus do you hit the repeat or the repeat A/B? Its not an old model like peeps have said aint hackable but it`s got me p***ed off!! Plus there aint no standby button on the remote???? Helppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

yes it does you are not doing it right
i had a similar prob
but the wife put the hack in and it worked first time
p.s the red power button is the standby

You use Repeat, not Repeat A/B.

Also, some firmware versions appear to have a slightly different version of the hack, try:

if the normal hack doesn`t work for you.

Snaklepuss try this,

1. switch the power on with no dvd in the drive.
2 - then press repeat not the a/b repeat
3 - enter the code 38767
4 - A small No 2 will appear in the top left of your screen
5 - Press 9 on your remote control. 9 is region free
6 - then press open on the player and then power off the unit before the tray is fully ejected.

This hack should definately work on your machine as I work in an Electrical retailers and do it very often for customers.

Cheerz for that. It was region free the first time I tried it man. A fully working hack. Nice 1. Can I get it to play CD-R`s??? Is it possible to get Macrovision disabled so I can make VHS??? Cheerz for the knowledge . Nice community here!!!!
