Page 1 of Proline and JVC help needed.

My friend has a Proline 2000 and has used the vcd hack but as everyone knows it wont play cd-r`s.I tried a Lite-on 74 cd-rw and that played and i was wondering if all cd-rw`s play on this machine or just a select few? Are there any cd-r`s that play on it or a hack or mod that lets you play them?
Another friend has a JVC XV515 and when i tried the same disks on his the cd-r did`nt register and the cd-rw started reading for a couple of secs then ejected on its own.Does anybody know of any brands of disk that play in this player and does anyone know of a region hack or any other hacks for this player as i cant find them anywhere.
