Does anyone know of the perfect DVD Player?????
Hi!
I have tried various DVD player offerings including the Alba by ASDA, the Schneider 511 (also ASDA), the Samsung 511 (Dixon), and I apparently am not selecting the right machine so far... What I wand is a machine that has (hackable through the remote as necessary)
-Multi region... So far that is easy..
- CDV so far not too difficult
- CDR (copies) Only the Alba did that
- Remote standby (The alba had all but this so far..)
- Hackable macrovision, preferably through the remote
-Ideally able to get past RCE restrictions.
I guess this is a tall order, but if there is a machine that can do all this without grief, giving it`s name in response to this thread will no doubt suddenly increase the sales of this(these) machine(s).
After all, when it is all said and done, that is what we are all looking fo, the best offering should curt through the dross of the "buying/trying/returning" cycle.
A million thanks to all of you in advance,
Yvan.

Minato from Tesco at £109 ..... plays CDR / CDRW / VCD / MP3 / DVD and has a manual region remote hack that is RCE compatible .... if you need Auto Region and Macro disable then this can be done with a chip

Thanks for that Steve! Tell me.. Would you know if this thing comes under any other names/badges?
I`ll go take a look at your site, but it might be worth posting here the price of the cjip and wether this can be done at home or is it to be sent for chipping?
Best regards,
Yvan.

RE: Does anyone know of the perfect DVD Player?????
Hi again Steve!
I went to Tesco, and they had none left, I got them to phone around the stores and found that there was one in Northampton, I asked to reserve it, drove there and bought it back. (£130.00)
In it`s functions, it has an air of confidence about it, The Scheider firmware sucked somewhat (if you switched it on with a CD in it, it needed to open and close again to realise it was loaded)
The next thing I am doing is to visit your site to get the chip mailed over for complete DVD bliss!
Thanks again !
Yvan
RE: Does anyone know of the perfect DVD Player?????
the price always was a bit vlolatile ... that player has been selling at £99 , £109 and £129 and seemed to vary week by week .... sounds like you paid the top price but supplies seem to be drying up so guess that`s why the price is up again
