ALDI 8 IN 1 REMOTE CONTROL - CAN IT HACK?

There is a lot of interest at present in the Bargain Bucket Forum on the Aldi `8 in 1 Medion` remote control. On sale from today for £7:99 (but you need to move quick, one week sale and going fast!). Controls all inc. SAT & DVDs. You can setup the three digit code for the kit you want to control but no `magic` button. Does anyone know if it can be used to hack Philips DVDs?
