Page 1 of Hitachi 305 US version

Guys - help me! I have tried the repeat 29334, and am getting no joy. After the Language screen has gone, I am putting in the numbers, but bugger all seems to be happening. Am I doing something majorly wrong here, or can my machine not be converted?

Okay I dont know about remote hacks as I`m a chipper but this is what I know about the US version of Hitachi 305 / Samsing 511.

Firstly not all versions of firmware are remote hackable ... secondly even if you chip the player it will not play PAL DVD`s , to play PAL DVD`s you will have to change the firmware chip but then if your TV cannot display PAL signals as most US TV`s cannot then you are stuck again ....

If you just want to play NTSC disks from another region then my (biased of course) advise is to chip the player if you cant get the remote hacks working

I have a Hitachi DVP305U, dual voltage, with a 3/2001 manufactures date and would like to convert it to Region Free (9). I too, have run into problems with the Thomson 3300 crack. No Joy! I`ve tried all the variations suggested by others and nothing. Have you found the same thing? Have you found a chip? Where and how much? Is it easy to replace? I do have multi system TVs.
