Help - region hack required - have followed the steps outlined but without success.

Have you tried the LG hack ?.

I have an LG4210 and it took about 3 attempts to get the machine to accept the coding.It now works a treat !.It is also true that if you set the machine to region 1 that it also plays region 2 discs without altering the region set up !.

i have the same problem as burnhope: followed the instructions but my zone 2 dv170 still won`t play a zone 1 disc. one thing was different then in the instructions: after the word "factory" appears it says in point 3 of the instructions to turn off the player - mine goes back off automatically after "factory" has appeared. can anyone help?

I have the same problem with a R2 italian XD DV170...
At this url: http://www.dvdcodes.co.uk/ they sell hack codes and the Aiwa is in their list. I wonder if it could work or if they are only greedy bastards...
Anybody knows?

Hi, faroscin all I can say is that I have had 2 codes from http://www.dvdcodes.co.uk I spent almost a week searching I came to that dvdcodes site, they had the code and I searched everywhere but could not find it anywere else, I thought what the hell and ordered it, it arived within 10 mins and worked flawlessly. The second code I ordered from them, was the same thing again, I could not find on any other sites arived within the hour. So all I can say is I have been more than happy with them.
