Hey Nilis I found this code for you.

(ensure no disc is loaded)
press <home>
Press <play/pause> 159121212005_ _ _ fill in desired code here (255 for free) followed by <play/pause>

It is the code for the 3595, I have the PHILIPS DVDR3597H and it worked on mine.

:/ Hi, since you have the 3597H, wonder if you can help me, I have the 3595H. 1. How can I select record mode for once off recording from tv/av sources without having to cycle thru SYSTEM and PREFERENCES>? 2. Once recording is started, how can I increase the recording time by increments as with the previous models?
Thanks. George

Daveuk, Thanks for your feedback! Where does the 255 code stand for? Is that the region free code?

Yes the 255 is the hex number i.e. making it `open` or multi region. 8)

Hi,

I also tried the hack supplied with no success however. Do you see any indication on the player ? I see none. I did:
* home
*play/pause
* enter 159121212005255 (tried it slow/quick)
*play/pause
turn off/on

This works!!

1. Turn on the player from the front panel (without a disc inserted)
2. Press HDD List on remote and ensure Hard Disk is highlighted
3. Press PLAY
4. Enter 159 121 212 005 255
5. Press PLAY
6. Turn the player off

Just did mine no problem after lots of frustration trying the other method.
