Press `0` five times
Press `REPEAT` (not `repeat a-b`)

Enter the following numbers: -
5,7,5,3,8,9

(As you press the second but last digit (8) you`ll see a number appear briefly on the screen)

Open and close the tray. 8)

This works fine (as long as you press REPEAT fairly quickly after the last 0), but the reproduction for region 1 discs is b/w. Now what do I have to do to see the thing in colour? Presumably all region 1 DVDs are NTSC? Region hacking is pretty pointless if this problem remains.

My TV set is not an issue -- it plays NTSC VHS tapes in colour without a problem.

Re my earlier posting. Problem solved. I had the SCART cable go via a 2-way switch to the TV. The signal didn`t like this. A direct connection removed the problem.
