when you hacked your machine, and you pressed setup did you do this on the cold start screen (i.e after you pressed pause and ffwd). Because everytime I press setup I just get the standard dvd setup screen, then after I press repeat a/b and I type in the numbers the cursor moves down to different options. WHAT AM I DOIN WRONG PLEASE HELP!!!

How long ago did you buy your machine?

Forget the hack you have and try this, it WORKS!

I have tried all of these suggested here and this one really works! This is a repost but perhaps you have not found it elsewhere so here it is...

turn off the dvd player then turn back on.no need for a disc.

select dvd mode then press set up once if language does not appear press set up again.
then press repeat a/b once then press in the numbers 38767 in the top left hand corner you should see 02 press 9 for region free.

then press open button then press standyby that should do it.

when you press in the first number after pressing the repeat a/b the curser should not move to that language if it does start over good luck

Let me know how it goes

I used the screen pressing the function "TV View" or the middle of the three buttons under the number buttons on the remote control. The information is displayed just as described in my previous post. Ignore the other posts and just do this proceedure it should work. I did NOT press pause-ff or do anything other than what I described earlier. I purchased my sv-dvd player about four months ago. Good luck.

I`m not sure if this is right but it read 4 5j can this be right? It was one of the first issued in Europe and I bought it about it approx 9 or 10 months ago.
