Page 1 of LG FDV25 (DVD HiFi) - Is there a Hack

Hi. I am thinking of buying this HiFi from Miller Brothers (£299). I have 2 questions.

1) Is it a good system? What is Audio/video quality like?

2) Is there a Hack for this player. Lots of the LG players appear to have hacks but I have not seen anything about this one.

It`s a good system, piccy quality is ace, but haven`t heard it loud enough to comment on the Audio

Jeeez.....I been away too long....first off, should be M/R outta the box, but if it aint, then the normal Aiwa 370 hack works.

Oh, and Haggis, if ye`ve read this <grin> I`ll mail ya tomorrow re: the other thread....and there`ll be some Philips stuff on me site within the next week or two.
(trying to keep all present content, add the Philips stuff at the same time as a redesign!)

Just to let you know that I have tried the Aiaw 370 hack and it worked first time!

The player was R2 only out of the box but now it will play and disk, including RCE disks! I have only had it a few hours but it seems like a good player. I am really pleased; and it plays MP3 CD`s too.

Now, is there a hack to disable macrovision.......

I`ve just bought one of these FDV25s` for myself. Does your system have a loud cooling fan as soon as you start up from Standby ?

I have the LG FDV25 myself, for about a week now. Yes, the cooling fan does kick in as soon as you switch on from standby. It is nowhere near as loud as the Playstation 2 fan. However, mine does not seem to be doing a very good job! The base of the unit seems to get VERY hot even when it is on standby. As a result when I play disc it comes out very hot also. Is this usual? Or have I got a bum unit? Has anyone else experienced this?

will this hifi play vcds as just seen today at £250 on shop man not have a clue if not play then do you no one that will under the £300 mark

HAVE A LOOK AROUND FOR LG 3520 CINEMA SYSTEM IT`S JUST BECOME AN OLD MODEL RECENTLY BUT THERE IS A VCD HACK AND A MULTI REGION HACK THE BEST NEWS IS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PICK ONE UP FOR ABOUT 200 QUID (I KNOW CAUSE I SELL THIS SORT OF STUFF)

Wrong! The FDV25 will play VCD if the correct hex pair is entered at the correct stage of hacking.

Recently? It became an old model around the middle of last year!
Oh, and did you know the FDV25 is essentially a 3520 with a tape deck and a different cabinet? <grin>

Anyways, like I said, trawl around for the FDV25 hacks as they will work, BUT remmeber to note the ORIGINAL UNHACKED players hex pairs so it can be reverted if something goes wrong ;o)
