First of all credit should go to Laurent Bonaventure for this one.

If you are one of the people who for weeks have been trying to hack their SV-DVD1E player with the hacks on this site, but have found that they do not work, or if you have an SV-DVD1EA player, just like I have your wish has come true.

Here it is at last.

1. Power on the player

2. Select the DVD screen by using TV View, and make sure the light on the player is selecting the DVD and not VHS.

3. Do the cold start, i.e Pause and ffwd on the player, and select your language.

4.Now press SUBTITLE on the remote.

5.Type in the code which can be found elsewhere on this site that corresponds to the existing region of the player, i.e type 38767 for region 2 machines, then 02 will be displayed in the top left of the TV screen.

6. Press 9 for region free.

7. Press OPEN on the remote and wait for 15 seconds.

8. Press STANDBY on the remote to turn the machine off.

9. Turn the machine back on, either with the remote or on the player itself, put in a R1 disk and VOILA!!!!!! you now have, after weeks of trying, a multi region player.

Thanks to your SUBTITLE method, it worked first time.

This has not unlocked the macrovision though.
Do you know how to do this?
