im having trouble with the instructions on the site for region free loveley dvd viewing.i have followed the instructions to the letter with no result.can anyone help me with any alternative info.

Basically, the multi-region hack is dependent on which firmware version you have in your DVD-M105. You might want to search earlier forum messages for a fuller explanation, but you can find out the version by taking off the lid of the player and looking at the label on the big oblong chip in the back right corner.

A brief summary of known firmware versions:

Version 5.02C - works with hack exactly as described
Version 5.02E - doesn`t work with hack at all :-(
Version 5.02Ee - works with hack, but you have to put in 57538 for Region 2, instead of 38767.

I noticed that after about 1 month my DVD payer went back to region 2 and had to enter the code again!!! Not realy a problem, bu tcould get annoying!

It will always go back to region 2 if you do a "reset" (i.e. holding down Play and Stop on the front of the player). I`ve never heard of it happening spontaneously before, but it could happen under certain (rare) circumstances.

Hi, need help re: Samsung DVD M105. We have tried to follow to similar remote hacks that both state after entering a specific code we will see number 2 (for the current region of our player) appear at the top of our screen. In both cases this does not happen. Do you know of any reason why this is the case or of any other hacks that we may try.

I am wondering if the Samsung DVD M105 is the same as the M109,that is sold at US Military BX/PX in Europe. It looks the same only it`s set to region 1. Will the hack for the M105 work on the M109? Please someone

It`s more than likely the same machine, Gonzo, but I wouldn`t expect to be able to hack it - all Samsung Region 1 firmware versions since the 511 model was launched have had the standard region hack removed from them.

I currently use the 57538 number code to change to Region free, but will the region free play RCE encoded discs. If not Could any one help me into the code to change it from region 1 to reion 2??
