Page 1 of please help - need a multi region hack for marantz dv 6200

anyone can help me to find a multi region hack for marantz.

have you tried the hack for the dv4200 @ http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/full/Marantz4200.asp ?

I`ve a strong feeling most of the DVD stuff is identical the dv6200 has better CD components.

The one for the dv-4200 found on this site works also for the 6200 (I haven`t actually tried another region disc yet but the procedure below accepted entering other regions so it should be fine)

1. Press the Pause button on your remote control
2. Press the buttons 3, 1, 4, 1, 5 and 9 on your remote control, in order and one at a time
3. The display should show the word CODE followed by the currently set region
4. Press 1 for Region 1, 2 for Region 2, 3 for Region 3, or 4 for Region 4, or 0 for multi-region
5. Press the Pause button on your remote control

Hi there,

Forgive me for sounding a little stupid. I am about to upgrade to a Marantz DV6200 as I have the AV receiver. Can I really get away with pressing a few keys on my control to make it a multi-region dvd player? Does it not need some kind of chip? If so it will save me a few quid......
