You can use a couple of little utilities called: -

CDVDINFO - http://www.cdvdinfo.subnet.dk/cdvdinfo.zip
DRIVEINFO - http://www.remoteselector.com/files/driveinfo21.exe

to find out specific info......

Its a 40 speed drive The firmware revision is 1.03
the vendor is 2001/09/27PIONEER

The region setting is not permenant yet either
