Does anyone know about this model? We received it as a gift. Is it Multi-region from the box. It appears so as I can access different regions in set up but am I missing something obvious?

Yes it is. I searched `dejanews.com` for info on this. It is the same player as the alba dvd 103 and is in fact a player made by the company `Shinco`. I recently played `American Beauty` region 1 on this and it works fine. Don`t know about RCE disks yet though. Changing the settings in the menu from GB to USA doesn`t seem to make any difference. This would indicate that RCA protected disks probably won`t work - does anyone else know any better??
