Page 1 of Dansai Change

hi guys,

just got off the phone with Tescos and they have told me I can exchange my Dansai 852 with any model they are selling due to a faulty eject tray (sticks on eject sometimes).

Can anyone please recommend the model I should have in it`s place - should it be the 1010 ? Are all the Dansais multi region these days ?

The 1010 is a poor substitute for the 852.

It doesnt play VCD/SVCD and is not able to be Macrovision disabled.

And it doesn`t look as nice. :)

I think a refund may be the best option of a bad lot, I think I could live with / investigate a (sometimes) sticky tray.

(You have taken the stick-on plastic protective cover off the display - this fouls the tray if on too high?)

yes plastic cover is off !! I was thinking of replacing with the Samsung 224 and adding a couple of quid to do so - I was always happy with my sammie 709 !

Does the 224 have DTS decoding on board ?

My 852 broke and I exchanged it for the Dansai 952. I think it looks nicer than the 852 and works fine. You can make it multi region but I don`t think you can turn macrovision off.
