Page 1 of Scan vs LG vs Encore vs Toshiba vs Wharfdale

I`m looking at the following players as my first DVD player:

Scan SC2000
LG 3350
Encore DV450
Toshiba SD100e
Wharfdale 750s

Can any owners of the above give me some info on how each performs, and which is best vale for money? Also, can you recommend good sites/dealers to buy any of the above from?

Darren out of the players you mention it has to be the Lg3350 Toshibas are good but wont play rce discs that well.
The Encore, Wharfy and scan all have there little problems to my knowledge and i can gurantee you that you wont go far wrong with an LG3350 why?

and the list goes on, they really are good if you cant get one of theese try an aiwa370 from comet, which is an LG clone mostly the same capabilities as the LG3350 and for £199, not a bad little player at all,both theese players also output pal 50 from ntsc so youre sure to have trouble free R1 playback on your telly.

Thanks for the advice. Can you recommend any websites/stores for buying the LG. Best price I`ve seen is £196 from Techntronics delivered, but out of stock until 29/12/00.

The Techtronics site is ex-VAT, so it`s £230 delivered, but as you say, out of stock. I bought one last week from www.21store.co.uk for £226 incl. next day delivery. Very pleased with it, excellent picture - and such a sexy remote :) The only thing I can`t get to work is mp3 playback.

Hi Darren, I was interested in the LG 3350E and steve7228 put me on to Dabs website who are selling them for £188.99 inc. vat + delivery ! but of course they are out of stock at the moment they say 3 -4 weeks, anyone seen it cheaper ?. Pedro.
