I know its been asked before ... but ... widescreen tvs ... any suggestions
I`m looking to spend about £500 can handle spending a little more, just wondering if you wonderful people have some suggestions of what make and model i should go for. Looking at some of the old posts in here it seems Panasonic is a no go area and I should go for 50Hz rather than 100.
So what do you guys think?? Any links to review sites would be fantastic.

I have a Toshiba & am very happy with it, I wouldn`t rule out Panasonic, I would never buy Philips.

I think I`ve been stuck in a time loop :) I`d recommend the Toshiba 28Z07B Widescreen and TBH comparing it to my brother-in-laws 28" TV the Toshiba looks bigger for some strange optical illusion type reason. Tesco still have it on their site for £559 (I think) minus the stand.Dolby Pro-Logic,2 Rear speakers, Picture Brilliant,Sound Excellent,Flat screen,3 Scart sockets etcetera etcetera. The picture/sound have many presets and are easily customised to your own preferences.
The sound has Hall/Disco/Stadium/Theatre/Dolby 3 Stereo and Pseudo Surround presets and TBH it certainly makes a difference when watching say the LOTR. If you can stretch it a bit get a pair of speakers for the front,it sounds better than using the speakers on the TV case when listening to some programmes/movies.
PS Search through Kelkoo, I think Robertsons have the same set at £590 with the stand.

I`ve just found the Toshiba 28Z07B at www.unbeatable.co.uk for £545.99 including the stand, the site says that it also got very good reviews from what video and tv and also what hi-fi. So it would seem that is a good one to go for.
Thanks a lot for your help!

I have recently bought the JVC 32R25, great picture and sound, Dolby P/L and it also has a built in sub woofer. I think you can get the 28`` version within your budget.

I have to agree with Terry, I bought a JVC about 6 months ago and have been mightily impressed.
